Peter Orner

… is the author of seven books, most recently Maggie Brown & Others (Little, Brown & Co., 2019) and Still No Word from You (Catapult, 2022). He is also the editor of three oral history collections in the McSweeney’s Voice of Witness Series. He has been awarded the Pushcart Prize, the American Academy in Rome Prize, the Guggenheim Award, the Lannan Foundation Literary Award, and the Fulbright Award, among others. Born in Chicago and raised in Highland Park, he currently teaches at Dartmouth College.

Rowan Beaird

… is the author of The Divorcées (Flatiron Books, 2024). She is the recipient of the Ploughshares Emerging Writer Award, and her stories have appeared in The Kenyon Review, The Southern Review, The Common, and elsewhere. She currently works at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.

Rachel Robbins

… is a writer and painter. She is the author of the novel The Sound of a Thousand Stars (Alcove Press, 2024) and the illustrated poetry collection In Lieu of Flowers (Tortoise Books, 2015). Her writing has appeared in The Kenyon Review, RHINO, After Hours, The Brooklyn Rail, and elsewhere. She teaches at the City Colleges of Chicago.

Jax Connelly

… has received honors from Best American Essays, Prairie Schooner, Nowhere Magazine, Boulevard, and The Pinch. Their experimental and hybrid essays have also appeared in The Georgia Review, Water-Stone Review, Pleiades, The Rumpus, Zone 3, and elsewhere. Jax currently lives in Rogers Park.
