In the face of troubling times, alternating months in this series will now become AN URGENT HOUR, a space where we can gather to take civic action—writing congresspeople, making donations, organizing, and taking whatever small, actionable steps we can. This will be distinctly separate from the readings and will not take the place of any readings already scheduled.

AN URGENT HOUR is not a space for sloganeering, flag-waving, or virtue-signaling. It’s about doing the work, however small and pedantic, that can add up in the long run.
